Calcium is the most abundant mineral in the human body. 99% of the body's calcium is stored in bones and teeth, giving them stability and strength. Calcium is also involved in numerous cellular processes, including energy production, blood clotting, signal transmission between nerve cells, and the excitation of muscles and nerves.

The plant-derived calcium found in the calcified Lithothamnium red algae is organically formed calcium carbonate, which differs fundamentally in form and fine structure from calcium carbonate from inorganic sources, such as limestone. Unlike limestone, the algal calcium is finely porous, which increases the surface area and thus the solubility and bioavailability of the calcium carbonate. As a result, the algal calcium is demonstrably absorbed in significantly higher quantities (200%!).

In addition to highly bioavailable calcium, Lithothamnium red algae naturally contains a number of other minerals and trace elements absorbed from seawater. Magnesium, iodine, and iron, which are important for numerous enzymatic functions, are particularly present in large quantities. This makes Calcified Atlantic Seaweed® a functional multi-mineral complex, unlike isolated mineral supplements such as calcium citrate.

Contraindications : Calcium is contraindicated in cases of hypersensitivity, hypercalcemia, calcium-containing kidney stones, nephrocalcinosis, severe hypercalciuria and severe renal insufficiency.

Contains iodine: If you have a pre-existing iodine allergy, goiter or hyperthyroidism, you should consult your doctor before taking this product.

Contains iron: In case of hypersensitivity, intolerance (e.g. due to chronic inflammatory gastrointestinal diseases), anemia without confirmed iron deficiency (e.g. vitamin B12 deficiency), increased iron accumulation in the body or iron utilization disorders (hemochromatosis), severe liver and kidney diseases or at the same time as an iron infusion, the intake must be discussed with a doctor.
