In fact, their common name comes from their unique ability to complete multiple spins in a single leap—the current record is seven! But these dolphins aren't all about playing. In the 1980s, they were the stars of the major conservation controversy that led to the Dolphin Safe tuna campaign. All the more reason for 4Ocean (and us) to continue their commitment.

How does 4ocean work?

4ocean volunteers collect plastic waste from the beach or fish it out of the water with nets. Where possible, the plastic waste is recycled on-site. The rest is taken to waste disposal facilities. 4ocean now operates in 16 countries and employs 150 people, including volunteers and many fishermen. The organization has also launched its own educational program to raise awareness about the dangers of plastic in the ocean. With each new bracelet, in addition to funding its own work, the organization also supports another environmental project!

4ocean founders Andrew Cooper and Alex Schulze came up with the idea when they were shocked to see how much plastic was floating in the ocean during a vacation in Bali. In just three years, the volunteers have already collected 5,000 tons – and more tons are being added every day...
